CUPE municipal and library workers across the Sea-to-Sky, Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley deliver services every day that make communities better for people, families and local businesses.
From the safety-oriented swim instructors to the thoughtful city planners and the library workers fostering learning in our communities, to the people who keep our parks beautiful and in good repair and the water treatment operators ensuring clean drinking water—and to everyone in between—there are thousands of people working hard every day to keep our communities working well for the people who live and work here.
But they’re facing growing challenges.
High increases the to cost of living in this region mean our local municipal workers are often struggling to afford to live in the communities they support. Meanwhile, an increasing reliance on seasonal and casual staff often means fewer stable, full-time jobs—making it difficult for workers to plan for the future.
Despite these challenges, CUPE members continue to work hard as they proudly deliver vital services throughout the Sea to Sky, Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley. Because they know better services make for better communities.
